Bee Impact is my capstone project designed to help inform the public about what is happening to bees,
and the importance of protecting them.
and the importance of protecting them.
The goal of this project was to raise public awareness about the importance of bees, starting right at the point of purchase. The concept centered on creating a fresh, eye-catching in-store display that would immediately draw shoppers’ attention. Designed in the shape of a honeycomb, the display showcased honey produced by Bee Impact, a local apiary. Some honeycomb cells featured jars of honey, while others displayed educational facts about the state of bees, paired with a link to the brand’s Instagram. The intention was to spark curiosity—encouraging shoppers not only to purchase the honey, thereby supporting local bees, but also to visit the website to learn additional ways to help.
For the Bee Impact identity, I focused on emphasizing both the bee and the honeycomb. The honeycomb is the only perfect hexagon found in nature—chosen by bees because it is the most efficient shape for storing honey while taking up the least space. This inspired the logo design: the bee’s body was constructed entirely from hexagons, with stripes added to the lower section to make it instantly recognizable as a bee rather than any generic winged insect.
