Bee Impact is my capstone project designed to help inform the public about what is happening to bees,
and the importance of protecting them.
and the importance of protecting them.
The idea behind this project is to get the general public to understand the importance of bees. It starts at the point of purchase by getting fresh, unique displays in store to draw the shoppers attention. For this project the display is in the shape of a honeycomb. Several honeycombs will display honey that is made by a local apiary, named Bee Impact. A few of the honeycombs will be occupied with facts about the state of bees, with a link to the Instagram. The hope being, people will be intrigued by the display to buy that honey to help bees, while also going to the website to see how else they can help bees. For the identity of Bee Impact, the idea was to emphasize the bee and the honeycomb. The honeycomb is the only time a perfect hexagon is found in natural. Bees use it, because it is the most efficient shape for their purpose, while taking up the least amount of space. That is why, in the logo, the bee shape was created from those hexagons. Then the stripes added to the bottom, to inform that it is a bee and not just any winged insect.
